Springfield, MO – Established local apparel retailers, STAXX and Jellybeans, are moving to the much anticipated development, Farmers Park, in May 2014 as part of a recent trend for many locally owned retailers and restaurants to relocate or open a second location at the new development. The idea behind the Farmers Park complex is to create a healthful, environmentally conscious community, with a focus on local food and local shops.

“I am extremely excited that STAXX and Jellybeans have the opportunity to be a part of such a diverse and progressive development that enhances both our community and our environment.  I feel the stores complement the eclectic mix of both new and expanding local businesses that already exist at Farmers Park, each with its own unique presence and mission,” shared Meghan Chambers, Owner of STAXX and Jellybeans.  “Rooted in Springfield, Missouri, for 10 and 20 years respectively, STAXX and Jellybeans are homegrown businesses. I believe the partnership with Farmers Park will positively impact not only our community, but also our future growth.” 

Both businesses are celebrating milestone anniversaries (Jellybeans – 20 years in business and STAXX – 10 years in business) as they join the Farmers Park community.   As more community members want to eat local, shop local and live local, STAXX and Jellybeans’ owner felt this was the right place to continue to meet the needs of their loyal customer base while supporting Farmers Park’s philosophy of healthful, community based living.

"Customers will have a very unique experience at Farmers Park, as they shop for fresh, healthy foods from the market, patronize local eateries and retail shops and take a stroll in the micro orchard and garden areas the development offers." 

 

Farmers Park was not only developed locally, but represented by a local commercial real estate company, R. B. Murray Company.  “STAXX and Jellybeans are two local, thriving businesses that continue to evolve forward into an ever changing retail industry.  Being part of Farmers Park is a natural transition for both businesses given their business models and clientele,” said Ross Murray, Vice President of R.B. Murray Company.  “I would like to congratulate both Meghan and her staff on all of their success and achievements.”

 

Construction at Farmers Park is expected to be complete in April.  Other local retailers and restaurants that have already moved to Farmers Park include Five Pound Apparel, 417 DryBar, Studio 417, Hudson Hawk Barber & Shop, Ellecor, Metropolitan Farmer and Aviary Café.

 

A grand opening for the Farmers Park development is scheduled for mid-May, in which STAXX and Jellybeans plan to participate.  Following the May moves, STAXX and Jellybeans will be hosting private openings for each of the stores in June.
